Kennel Club of Philadelphia Dog Shows

This year's Kennel Club of Philadelphia Dog Shows, attracted an international field of more than 2,000 top show dogs over the two day event, held this weekend at the Fort Washington Expo Center in Philadelphia. The event was live on NBC Channel 10

For their live coverage of the Kennel Club of Philadelphia Saturday Dog Show, NBC used a Steadicam equiped with a Gigawave D-Cam wireless camera system. This is the first time that a D-Cam has been used for this kind of event in the United States and the system worked perfectly. The D-Cam was provided by Total RF, who is also Gigawave's agent in the United States.

According to the Total RF engineers who supplied the D-Cam to , there was no break up or loss of signal at anytime during the show. The Steadicam/D-Cam combination was used extensively to cover the various best of breed competitions in the main arena, in addition to events in other parts of the extensive Fort Washington Center.

The main advantage of the Steadicam/D-Cam combination was that it enabled the cameraman to track each dog and provide close-up images as as the dog and its handler as it was paraded in front of the judges. According to the production crew, the D-Cam wireless camera system was definately a winner!
