The concept of starting a full-service wireless communications business began over 20 years ago when a handful of electrical engineers with varying backgrounds brainstormed in the attic of a home and decided that the wireless community would best be served by uniting forces, and thus Total RF was created. The company grew so quickly, new quarters were soon attained for housing additional employees and equipment. In 1998, the company moved again to accommodate its burgeoning business, and today is situated just 20 miles north of Philadelphia at 777 American Drive, Bensalem, PA, 19020.
Early on, Total RF focused mostly on research and development, while freelance techs were utilized to install and operate equipment at various events. Soon there was a need for employing full-time road techs and more developmental engineers as the company's reputation grew along with the demand for specialized services. A front runner in moving RF over fiber, Total RF quickly dominated the realm of heavyweight golf events for clients such as NBC and The Golf Channel. To cover major foot races such as the New York, Boston and Chicago Marathons, motorcycles were purchased and customized with microwave communications gear to capture the action live and close-up. The motorcycles were also utilized for bike races such as The Corestates and Thrift Drug US PRO Cycling Championships, Tour DuPont, Korbel Challenge, Olympic Cycling and Northwest Cup, to name a few. The company also pioneered remote audio mixers which were placed on board certain vessels during the America's Cup, using a helicopter as a receive site. Total RF was the first to introduce remote camera paint systems, which allowed video engineers to shade or "paint" the lens when passing through dark tunnels or pointing towards strong sunlight, thus setting the standard for producing the highest-quality video. Dry equipment rentals (equipment rentals without a technician) also became a popular sideline for the thriving company.
As the wireless communications industry grew, Total RF grew right along with it. Anticipating and fulfilling client needs, continuing cutting edge design and implementation of RF technology, adding to its extensive equipment inventory as well as its fleet of mobile RF production trucks and auxiliary vehicles, providing full spectrum frequency planning, microwave link alignment, site surveys, fiber optics, broadcast operations and consultations have all contributed to building Total RF into the award winning industry leader it is today.
Continuing the concept of joining forces, in 2008 Total RF and CP Communications (www.cpcomms.com) came under the umbrella of Red House Holdings, Inc. in order to form the strongest, most innovative, versatile, full-service wireless communications business in the industry. CP Communications is THE leading source for rental, sales and technical support of production audio, communications, specialty video and fiber optic equipment. Together, TRF/CP will continue to forge cutting edge R & D, develop new products with industry partners and manufacturers such as Multidyne, Gigawave, Link, Domo, etc., expand its scope of major event coverage to include the upcoming NBC Olympics in Vancouver after successfully staffing the 2008 Olympics in China and the 2009 Presidential election, and increase its extensive product inventory. The company-owned fleet of fully-equipped mobile production units is all HD capable and ready to roll at a moment’s notice. By combining the resources of both companies, Total RF and CP Communications are moving forward with the ability and confidence to deliver unparalleled wireless communication products, expertise, service and support to the entire global market!
